When you hear BIM, what do you think?

BIM is a mindset wrapped inside of a process that is hinged on an environment of sharing and collaboration mixed in with technology as the means of creation and analysis!

I also think BIM is a limited definition. We have a perpective on the acronym. Building should be viewed as a action word not a noun. "We are Building an Information Model" vs. "it is a Building Information Model".

Critical to the successful integration of computer models into project coordination, simulation, and optimization is the inclusion of information—the “I” in BIM—to generate feedback. As a shared knowledge resource, BIM can serve as a reliable basis for decision making and reduce the need for re-gathering or re-formatting information.

Building = Construction / Development
Information = Data Pertaining to a facility
Model = Visual form
