Bridge House

Interior finishes such as the porcelain tile floors, stone walls, translucent ceiling tiles and lighting were all selected to compliment one another. The finishes to note are the massive stone walls @ 24" thick that separate the home into 3 distinct sections, Private Retreat, Relaxation and Living. Wood windows and doors were milled with African Sapele on the exterior and Cherry wood on the interior to match all the cabinets within the house.Flush baseboards and reglet edges at all openings help to create the clean lined spaces that the Owner desired. The beauty of natural materials used throughout the house is meant to be the "Art".

We thought this project represents the ability of a contemporary design that fits within the Austin Hill Country landscape to be comfortable and to feel like home.It is a testament that a house can be uniquely planned for someone and at the same time respond to the site and surrounding vernacular.

Lake Austin Retreat

This residence is an example of how we listen to our clients and deliver a design that meets their expectations, and then some.
The house is sitted on a blff on the banks of Lake Austin which drops off 60' to the water. We designed a series of pools that terrace down the back of the property. The outdoor kitchen was carved from the hill side and includes acess to a hidden pool grotto that is hidden from the main pool by a waterfall.
Entertainment for friends and family as well as a place for relaxation was a fundamental to the design. It's always a pleaure to visit this home and see how much it is enjoyed by everyone.

Schoolhouse Contemporary - a change in attitude...

This little house was a joy to work on. In our initial meeting the client indicated that they wanted a complete departure from the ordinary style of home they had been accustomed to for so many years. The husband and wife were both teachers so we used the concept of a little red school house as the inspiration for the form of the project. Contrasting color, a simple plan layout and open rooms with large 16 foot tall windows fill the house with natural light.
